The Inspiration:
A lantern frame stripped of its paper, still holding the shape of light. Made for the woman who leaves the structure showing and calls that the finished thing.

The Design:
The centrepiece of this bracelet is an open cage of curved white gold wires, arcing and crossing over one another so the shape swells in the middle and tapers to fine points at both ends. Round brilliant cut diamonds are claw-set singly at irregular points along the wires, some perched on the outer arcs and others sitting deeper inside the structure, so the stones read as scattered rather than lined up. Nothing is filled in behind them, leaving the whole panel open and skeletal. Round rings at each end carry two lengths of fine cable chain to a lobster clasp.
