The Inspiration:

The Design:
A princess cut diamond hangs point-down from a slim polished white gold bail, its square shape tipped onto one corner to sit like a kite. Four V-shaped claws grip the four corners of the stone, leaving the sharp step-and-brilliant faceting fully open to catch a crisp, geometric sparkle. The straight bail drops from the chain to the top point of the stone, keeping it swinging on one clean vertical line. It hangs from a fine white gold cable chain worn on its own.
