The Inspiration:

The Design:
A round brilliant cut diamond hangs from a flat, tapered white gold bail, held by four slim claw prongs that grip the stone at north, south, east and west. The open setting leaves the girdle and pavilion exposed, so light enters from every angle and the diamond reads larger and brighter than its frame. The bail runs straight down from the chain into the top of the setting, giving the pendant a clean vertical line. It slides on a fine white gold cable chain with nothing else on it.
